“I was fortunate enough to attend the Tools in the Trades event in Southampton on September 22, 2023 with some of my High School Co-op Program students who are at Bruce Power. I was impressed by the passion, enthusiasm and support of the skilled tradespeople that were working with the event participants.
It was a fantastic day of hands-on activities and networking opportunities. My students made valuable contacts. They told me that they left the event feeling better informed of the high demand for skilled workers, as well as apprenticeship and employment opportunities that exist for them, in our local area (and beyond).
I have mentioned this event and other upcoming events to (FLM) managers at Bruce Power and they have encouraged my students to participate in them. This further emphasizes for my students the significance and value of these highly relevant career exploration and skill development events”.
